Qualifications |
Dr.
Md. Liakath Ali has 21 years of experience of working for Water Resource
Management and development project planning. During this time he gained
qualifications on many key thematic areas of the development,
administration, research works, urban planning (especially drainage),
national level planning, development of the estuary and teaching. Dr.
Liakath expanded his expertise in the management of floods (flood control,
drainage and irrigation), tidal surge, cyclone, drought, salinity, erosion
and accretion (including climate change). His key qualification also
includes formulation of policy, strategy development, monitoring and
evaluation and knowledge management approach. He acquired good experiences
in the management of the Coastal Zone of Bangladesh in a sustainable way.
Mr. Liakath is qualified for project implementation (including feasibility
study) and administrative matter. He is very much capable of dealing with
the environmental issues of the project including impact assessment and
studies. He has already worked independently having lead role to work with
a multidisciplinary team of experts of various disciplines. He has worked as Senior National Expert (Dutch and
DfID funded project of WARPO, MoWR)- as Coastal & Water Engineer and
programme development facilitator (for preparing/processing priority
investment programme for the development of Coastal Zone) and maintained
liaison with 25 GoB agencies regularly. Dr. Liakath has good command on environmental and natural hazard management and
vulnerability analysis. He has experiences in Mathematical modelling, GIS
modelling and Decision Support System.
He has worked for development of integrated coastal resources database and
maintains inventories of coastal projects. He has worked as a Project Manager (Dutch funded
project of BWDB, MoWR) and dealing with hydrographic survey, bathymetric
survey of the Bangladesh estuary and processing the data and updating the
mathematical models. He is very much related to the environmental and
morphological process (including changes) of the coastal zone of
Bangladesh. He has good command in report writing, bid
reviewing, evaluation and contract documents. Dr. Liakath is very much
familiar with the GoB rules and regulations and procurement procedure. He
has worked with various international expatriate professionals. |
